Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a Network Engineer 5G CORE Lead to join the Army TEN-M program. This remote position requires 25% to 50% travel and residency within 50 miles of a major airport. The role emphasizes deployment of 5G core networks and secure integration with existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install and deploy 5G network equipment including core servers, CU/DU hardware, switches, routers, firewalls, GNSS antennas, cabling and interconnections.
• Capture system integration details and architecture focusing on Private 5G core and its integration.
• Ensure secure, seamless integration of wireless, fiber and related technologies into the Army network.
• Support planning, architecture development, installation, configuration, operations, maintenance, documentation and engineering activities.
• Collaborate with Design, Implementation and Cybersecurity teams for aligned integration across areas.
• Assist with test procedures, system validation and field troubleshooting under engineering direction.

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Network Engineer 5G CORE Lead to join our team in support of the Army TEN-M program. This is a remote position and requires 25% to 50% travel; you must reside within a 50-mile radius of a major airport.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and deployment of 5G network equipment including core servers, CU/DU hardware, network switches, routers, firewalls, synchronization equipment, GNSS GPS antennas, structured cabling, and associated interconnections.
• Capture all required system integration details, network interfaces, and existing architecture with a strong focus on the Private 5G core, its capabilities, and its integration within the broader environment.
• Ensure all network components - spanning wireless, fiber, and supporting technologies - are securely and seamlessly integrated into the existing Army network.
• Supports planning, architecture development, installation, configuration, operations and maintenance, documentation, and engineering activities related to network services.
• Collaborate closely with the Design, Implementation, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure smooth, secure, and fully aligned integration across all functional areas.
• Support equipment staging, rack and stack, power verification, cable management, hardware replacement, software loading, and field troubleshooting activities.
• Assist with execution of test procedures and system validation activities under direction of engineering staff.

Basic Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 15+ years of network engineering experience with emphasis on 5G CORE technologies and understanding of the duties as described above.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience.
• Secret Clearance.

Salary and Compensation

The likely salary range for this position is $169,604 - $229,464. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
