Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Network Team Lead to guide our CBP infrastructure program in a federal setting.

The role focuses on monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of network and firewall systems across nationwide sites, directing engineering and operations teams in real time. The position requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 10+ years of experience, plus ITIL certification.

• Plan, organize, and direct the Network Operations Team to ensure stable operation of CBP's network infrastructure.
• Maintain, support, and optimize key network and firewall infrastructure and telecommunications systems.
• Manage and set priorities for monitoring and maintenance of LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, and wireless networks.
• Coordinate and manage routine testing and analysis of network and firewall elements.
• Schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems promptly.

As a Network Team Lead, you will be part of a program that provides support for federal clients in D.C. for their Networking, telecommunication, and firewall technologies. The team supports engineering and operational tasks and performs real-time monitoring, proactive maintenance, incident detection and response, problem resolution, and network and firewall performance reporting across nationwide enterprise. This hybrid position offers a combination of remote work and periodic on-site support and customer meetings.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.
• Plan, organize, and direct the Network Operations Team to ensure the stable operation of CBP's network infrastructure.
• Maintain, support, and optimize key functional areas, particularly network and firewall infrastructure, and telecommunications systems.
• Manage and set priorities for the monitoring and maintenance of network systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, and wireless.
• Manage and set priorities for the Network Management team.
• Ensure effective monitoring and response to hardware, software, and network problems.
• Coordinate and manage the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network and firewalls
• Schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Bachelor's degree in related technical field such as Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Networking and Telecommunications or an additional 4 years of related experience is required.
• 10+ years of related experience
• Current ITIL 4 or ITIL 5 Foundation Certification is required by the customer to be considered for this role.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts, infrastructure, and equipment (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers).
• Experience implementing and administering an enterprise-wide monitoring system for servers, networking devices, and applications.
• Showcase leadership abilities by managing projects and teams.
• Proficiency in project managemen and have knowledge of security and compliance issues.
• Previous experience supporting large federal customers is highly desired.

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
