Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking an Experienced Structural Engineer for its Temporary Works Group. The role involves design and calculations for temporary structures, reviewing designs, and supporting construction teams on-site.

The position emphasizes collaboration, safety, and innovative methods across bridges, cofferdams, and crane operations. Based in NY/NJ offices with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with temporary structures and/or construction engineering methods.
• Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree or greater in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within the United States.
• Strong all-around academic knowledge of structural engineering.
• Experience with engineering design software (AutoCAD, BlueBeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D).
• Experience in a team setting and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods.
• Perform and/or review others’ calculations and design drawings.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of the design deliverables.
• Identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning.
• Assist in Project Management (budgets, schedules, quality control, coordination).
• Provide on-site design engineering support and inspections.
