Job summary

City of Jacksonville Beach is seeking a part-time utility technician to operate and maintain municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater facilities. The role requires a high school diploma, Florida driver’s license, and a Wastewater Class C license, with on-site responsibilities across several shift patterns.

You will perform laboratory analyses, read and interpret meters, adjust pumps and valves, and document daily activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and minimum hours for licensure as prescribed by the DEP.
• Driver’s license valid in Florida and a Wastewater Class C License.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains municipal water or wastewater treatment plant, and/or stormwater systems.
• Performs routine laboratory analyses and records results.
• Reads meters, charts and records data; enters information into computerized systems.
• Regulates motors, pumps, valves, and related equipment to meet conditions.
• Prepares reports and maintains logs; may lead operator trainees.
