The City of Jacksonville Beach is seeking a Utility Service Worker I to join our public works team. This semiskilled role covers installation, repair, and maintenance of water, sewer, and stormwater systems under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a Florida driver’s license; you must obtain a Class B CDL within six months. Heavy equipment operation and occasional overtime are responsibilities of this position.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment for public utilities work.
• Must have a Florida driver’s license and obtain Class B CDL within six months.
• Ability to perform manual labor and work overtime or on weekends as needed.

Aufgaben

• Installs, builds, repairs, and maintains public utility systems (water, sewer, streets, stormwater).
• Locates lines and main service lines for contractors and utility companies.
• Operates trucks, tractors, back-hoe, mowers and other construction equipment.
• Loads and unloads materials; patches streets and performs surface restoration.
• Digs trenches, maintains rights of way, and installs/repairs meters and hydrants.
• Performs maintenance of traffic requirements and ensures safety around equipment.
