Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; complete Defensive Driving Course.
  • Arizona driver’s license required on hire.
  • Two+ years of professional driving experience preferred.
  • One+ years of warehouse experience preferred.
  • Experience driving a 26-ft box truck with air brakes.

  • Collaborate with poll workers and T-Techs for pre-opening setup.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient delivery to vote centers.
  • Fulfill and organize orders to maintain adequate equipment at vote centers.

Job description

Position Overview

Temporary Election Worker (Seasonal Warehouse Driver) for Maricopa County Elections. Supports election activities by preparing and transporting equipment, making deliveries, and assembling election material and voter center supplies.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare election supplies in a warehouse environment.
  • Support other warehouse functions such as checking equipment in and out, lifting and stacking inventory, and general maintenance.
  • Replenish labels, pallet stacks, loads/unloads trailers and trucks, and move stowed products to various locations.
  • Drive a 26‑ft box truck with air brakes to deliver and pick up election materials.
  • Transport equipment and items to and from polling locations and vote centers.
  • Work in teams of two with a partner from a different political party.
  • Fulfill and organize orders to ensure vote centers have adequate equipment and that delivery is efficient and accurate.
  • Assist other divisions of Elections with daily functions and activities.
  • Follow checklists to ensure accurate and complete set‑up of the vote center.
  • Verify room and area allocated for equipment and confirm correct equipment was delivered before set‑up.
  • Collaborate with poll workers and T‑Techs to deliver equipment for set‑up before opening.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Registered voter in Arizona or ability to become one.
  • Pass applicable background screening.
  • Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and attendance in Maricopa County’s Defensive Driving Course.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license upon hire.
  • Preferred: Two or more years of professional driving experience.
  • Preferred: One or more years of warehouse experience.
  • Experience driving a 26‑ft box truck with air brakes.
Working Conditions

Full‑time/temporary/holiday/overtime hours are mandatory during the election cycle.

Requires ability to sit or stand for extended periods, repetitive motion, daily manual lifting and moving of election equipment.

Lifts floor‑to‑shoulder and shoulder‑to‑waist up to 40lb and carries for 100ft; pushes/pulls up to 50lb for 200ft. Work is outdoors in high temperatures or indoors in a warehouse setting. Use of a pallet jack and county vehicle required.

Must not engage in political discussion while on duty.

Incentives and Compensation

Pay: $20 per hour. Eligible for overtime compensation for hours over 40 per week. Temporary workers may earn a $1,250 one‑time retention incentive.
