Job summary

North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Temporary Undergraduate Research Technician to perform wet lab tasks, DNA/RNA extraction from fungal tissues, and to maintain mycological cultures with aseptic precision.

You will execute PCR and qPCR, run gel electrophoresis, and contribute to plant pathogen assessments while communicating clearly and training student workers in a dynamic lab. The schedule is 8:30am–5pm, Monday–Friday, with benefits for temporary employees.

Qualifications

• Experience with hard to culture fungi, plants and plant pathogens.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique.
• Experience with PCR and quantitative PCR.

• Strong oral and written communication.
