Job summary

Maricopa County Elections seeks a Temporary Trainer to oversee the training logistics for election support staff and co-facilitate classes with Elections Trainers across multiple locations. This role reports to the Training Manager and prepares materials while supporting trainers as needed.

Temporary workers meeting eligibility can earn a $1,250 One-Time Retention Incentive. The position involves travel to off-site facilities and overtime during election cycles.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience performing office, administrative, clerical, or training duties.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coaching and co-facilitating off-site training classes with Elections Trainers.
  • Assist with distribution of training materials, classroom resets, and collection and entry of training survey data.
  • Assist with development and review of training materials for poll workers.
  • Provide guidance to poll workers, answer questions via hotline, enter tickets, and dispatch assistance to locations via ticketing system.
  • Assist with building packets and binders with site-specific resources for inspectors, troubleshooters, and hotline workers.
  • Assist other divisions of Elections with their daily functions and activities.

About the Position

It\'s election season, and we need your help! Election season is a crucial time for accuracy and expediency. If you want to be a part of one of the most important government tasks, this position is for you!

The Temporary Trainer oversees arrangements and logistics for training election support staff, assisting with training operations for over 2,000 poll workers across multiple locations. Reporting to the Training Manager, the Temporary Trainer prepares and distributes materials, supports trainers as needed, and, once trained, co-facilitates classes with Elections Trainers.

Temporary Election Workers who meet eligibility requirements can earn a $1,250 One-Time Retention Incentive.

We Require
  • Two years of experience performing office, administrative, clerical, or training duties
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
  • Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
  • Must pass an applicable background screening
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona\'s driver\'s license by the time of hire
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary

Working Conditions

This position requires:

  • Travel to off-site training facilities
  • Mandatory overtime during election cycles, including evenings, holidays, and weekends
  • The ability to sit or stand for an extended period, to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist of up to 25 pounds and carry for 100 feet, and the ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds for 200 feet
  • Must not engage in any political discussion while on duty/at work
