The Science House at NC State University seeks a Temporary STEM Instructor 2026 to plan, prepare, and deliver STEM curricula for camps and academies in Raleigh, NC. You will foster a welcoming learning environment and use project-based methods.
Choose 5–10 hours weekly (Saturdays 8am–1pm in summer; other periods Mon-Fri 8am–5pm). Compensation is $25–$30 per hour. Prior teaching experience preferred, with a STEM background and passion for outreach.
The Science House (TSH) is the College of Sciences statewide K-12 STEM outreach unit. Established in 1991, TSH is a national model of university collaboration between university departments, businesses, and the K-12 community. TSH’s mission is to collaboratively maintain and develop K-12 teacher and student programs that inspire a passion for STEM learning, research, and discovery. TSH achieves this through four strategic priorities: teacher professional development, student programs, rural satellite offices, and broader impact support. As a Temporary STEM Instructor 2026, you will plan, prepare, and deliver STEM instructional curricula for Imhotep and Kyran Anderson camps and academies, fostering a supportive and welcoming learning environment.
5-10 hours per week, varying by week; Saturdays 8 am–1 pm for summer or track‑out camps; Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm during other program periods.
