Job summary

Benedictine Health System seeks a Spiritual Care Director to provide compassionate spiritual and emotional support for residents, families, and staff. You will lead the program, develop budgets, and guide ethical decision-making.

This role focuses on end-of-life care, bereavement resources, and staff education, with a commitment to honoring diverse faith expressions across the care setting.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of active ministry in church or healthcare setting.
• Bachelor's degree in theology or related field.
• Theological understanding and respect towards all faith expressions.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes strategic plans, including budget development and management.
• Serves as a resource for residents/families and consults those making difficult ethical decisions such as preparing advanced directives.
• Shows attention to those facing the end of life and provides bereavement resources to both residents and families.
• Educates staff and volunteers on the importance of spiritual care in health and healing.
