Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Classroom Assistant to support students with disabilities under the direction of a Special Education teacher and school principal. The role involves assisting with daily living skills, one-on-one tutoring, and classroom support in alignment with each student’s IEP.

The position requires a valid ISBE paraprofessional license (or equivalent) and at least 60 college credits, with the CPS salary range listed from $41,766.58 to $60,584.36 annually.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid TASN/ISBE paraprofessional license or be eligible to obtain it.
• Minimum of 60 college credits or equivalent for paraprofessional eligibility.
• Ability to follow IEPs and support students with various disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction for students with disabilities in accordance with IEPs.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and support to reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care as required.
• Maintain written records of student behavior and progress.
