Playworks is seeking a Site Specialist to bring healthy play to two elementary schools in the New Bedford, MA area. You will receive two weeks of training before the school year and work on-site to run Playworks' programs during regular school hours.

You will teach conflict resolution, lead recess activities, mentor 4th–6th graders as Junior Coaches, and collaborate with school staff to embed Playworks into daily routines.

Qualifikationen

• Proven organizational skills in meeting or exceeding expectations in timely planning and deliverables.
• Extensive knowledge of youth development principles and practices.
• At least 2 years of experience working directly with groups of children.
• Experience facilitating trainings for adults.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.

Aufgaben

• Lead safe and fun recess programming, teaching games, conflict resolution, and positive play.
• Facilitate Class Game Time, helping students build the skills to participate at recess.
• Lead Junior Coach Leadership Program, training 4th–6th grade students in leadership and teamwork.
• Provide training and support to school staff to strengthen recess and play-based programming.
• Adapt programming to meet school and community needs.
