Job summary

Playworks is seeking a Site Specialist to bring healthy play to two elementary schools in the New Bedford, MA area. The role runs about 3 months (Dec 1, 2026 – Apr 30, 2027) with on-site work during school hours and two weeks of training before the year starts.

You will lead safe recess programming, teach conflict resolution, and train school staff while coordinating with administrators and families. Reliable transportation is required for dispersed sites.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating youth programs and school-based activities.
• Ability to develop and implement recess activities.
• Strong conflict resolution and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.
• Experience with reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe and engaging recess programming.
• Facilitate Class Game Time and student participation.
• Lead Junior Coach Leadership Program for 4th–6th graders.
• Provide training and support to school staff.
• Collaborate with school administrators and families.
• Support regional events and trainings as needed.
