Job summary

Calvert County Government is seeking a Temporary Food Service Coordinator to support the Calvert Pines Senior Center kitchen operations. Responsibilities include preparing coffee, serving meals, and maintaining sanitation in line with Health Department regulations.

The role requires lifting up to 49 pounds, valid driver’s license, and obtaining sanitation certification within six months. This position is an as-needed, hourly role at the Calvert Pines Senior Center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of progressive food service experience including health inspections and bulk food handling.
• One year of recordkeeping and database entry experience.
• Six months managing several financial accounts.
• Valid driver’s license; sanitation certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Health Department regulations for kitchen, food service, and sanitation; monitor and record temperatures.
• Open kitchen, prepare coffee, heat water, and set out snacks.
• Serve lunch on time and assist with meal counts for the caterer or center staff.
• Wash and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and dining areas; assist with inventory and supplies.
