Job summary

The Calvert County Government’s Office on Aging is seeking a Temporary Food Service Coordinator to manage kitchen operations at the Senior Center, ensure Health Department compliance, prepare coffee, monitor food temperatures, serve lunches, and assist Meals on Wheels volunteers. You will lift up to 49 pounds, maintain records, coordinate with volunteers, and help with inventory and meal reservations.

A valid driver’s license and sanitation certification are required, with certification

Qualifications

• Two years of progressive food experience including health inspections, CCPs, thermometer calibration, documentation and bulk food handling.
• One year of experience with recordkeeping, documentation, and database entry.
• Six months experience managing several financial accounts.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Health Department regulations for kitchen, food service, and sanitation are met and temperatures of ovens, refrigerators and freezers are correct.
• Opens kitchen, makes coffee, heats water for tea, and sets out snacks.
• Receives and checks for proper temperatures of incoming food and maintains/records temperatures.
• Puts food in refrigerator or heat wells and records temperatures.
• Serves lunch on time.
• May provide weekly meal counts to the caterer or other staff.
• Puts food away and cleans pots, pans, and utensils.
• Washes and sanitizes service areas and bulk containers; delivers Meals on Wheels when needed.
• Conducts inventory of nutrition supplies and orders as needed.
