Omaha Steaks, Inc. is seeking a Temporary Safety Inspector for the Papillion, NE area. The role involves performing facility safety inspections to ensure employees work safely, investigating accidents, and assisting with Return-to-Work programs.

You will conduct safety training and help enforce OSHA rules across the facility. The position requires a 2-year college degree or equivalent, experience with OSHA regulations, and strong communication skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.

Schedule Requirements:

• Ability to work from 10pm-6am, seven days a week. Available after hours and is on call for emergencies.

Job Summary:

Performs facility safety inspections to ensure employees are working safely. Completes accident investigations and assists with the Return-to-Work program. Performs safety training classes as needed. Assists facility management in enforcing work safety rules.

Performs facility safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and Omaha Steaks Safety Program requirements. Monitors employee safety and ergonomic techniques and makes corrections as needed. Communicates findings to management.

Assists with completion of accident and/or immediate response reports. Investigates accidents, identifies root causes, and makes recommendations to prevent recurrence. Assists with the Return-to-Work program and maintains confidentiality of any medical or personnel-related records or issues.

Performs power equipment training classes as needed. Assembles and maintains training paperwork.

Completes other special projects and duties as assigned.

Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

2- year college degree or equivalent

Experience with OSHA or Safety regulations and/or training

2 years experience in safety and/or training. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills helpful.

Ability to learn and understand how power equipment is operated.

PC and computer operations knowledge – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Must have effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and human relations skills.
