Qualifications

About This Role

The Temporary RN in the Medical Surgical Float Pool at Kaiser Permanente provides nursing care for patients, utilizing clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in collaboration with the healthcare team. This role is ideal for RNs with experience in acute care settings.

What You'll Do

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Develop individual nursing plans of care sensitive to patient developmental needs.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocols for medical and surgical patients.
• Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient responses to treatment.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
• Calculate and administer medications accurately.
• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate.
• Perform all necessary procedures correctly.

Requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Experience

• Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience
• One (1) year recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility

Licenses & Certifications

• Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
• Basic Life Support required at hire
• NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire
