Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
• One (1) year recent ICU nursing experience or successful Kaiser ICU cross-training.
• Registered Nurse License (Oregon).
• Basic Life Support required at hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
• Develop an individual nursing plan of care sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for management of medical/surgical patients.
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patients' response to treatment.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments and community agencies.
• Document care accurately in the EMR according to policy and procedure.
• Classify acuity level and establish priorities for patient care.
• Accurately calculate and administer medications.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate.
