Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas, OR is seeking a Temporary RN for the Medical Surgical Float Pool to deliver comprehensive nursing care and collaborate with the healthcare team.

This part-time, day-shift position requires acute care experience, a valid Oregon RN license, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification within 3 months of hire.

You will assess patients, develop care plans, document in the EMR, participate in quality activities and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 9 months RN experience.
• 1 year Med/Surg experience in acute care OR 1 year RN in skilled nursing.
• Oregon Registered Nurse license.
• BLS required at hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale cert within 3 months of hire.

About This Role

The Temporary RN in the Medical Surgical Float Pool at Kaiser Permanente is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients, utilizing clinical judgment and collaborating with healthcare team members. This role is ideal for RNs with experience in acute care settings who are looking for a dynamic work environment.

What You’ll Do

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Develop individual nursing plans of care sensitive to patient developmental needs.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocols for medical and surgical patients.
• Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient responses to treatment.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
• Calculate and administer medications accurately.
• Utilize available teaching plans to address patient teaching needs.
• Reassess patients throughout hospitalization and perform complete discharge assessments.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Experience:

• Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience
• One (1) year recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting OR one (1) year RN experience in a skilled nursing facility

Licenses & Certifications:

• Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
• Basic Life Support required at hire
• NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire
