University of North Carolina Charlotte is seeking candidates for the Temporary Research Support Pool-Hourly. This pool supports departments with temporary research staff, requiring 30–40 hours per week as needed, and offers hourly pay with no benefits typically attached to temporary roles.
Posting window runs 07/01/2026 through 09/30/2026. Duties include conducting experiments, collecting data, and ensuring proper lab practices; strong communication and attention to detail are essential.
* This pool is used for the as-needed purpose of hiring an employee for either part-time or full-time temporary employment. Whenever a department has a need for temporary Research Support, this pool will be reviewed to obtain potential candidates. Applicants will be contacted directly by the hiring officials to arrange an interview, if qualified.
* Applicants in this pool will remain active until 9/30/2026. If you have continued interest in temporary employment beyond that time, you will need to reapply for the next available temporary pool.
* Temporary staff employees are ineligible to receive benefits (leave, health coverage, State service credit, etc.). They are, however, covered by Worker's Compensation provisions.
However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions, or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, and will be notified of instructions.
