Job description

Position: Temporary Research Assistant - Tobacco Genetics and Breeding

NC State University is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to publish tobacco genetics and breeding publications. The position is located in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences in Raleigh, NC.

Position Details

• Work Schedule: 35-40 hours per week
• Responsibilities: Conduct tobacco nematode resistance evaluations, pollinate tobacco plants, and maintain pathogen cultures. Prior experience working on a tobacco farm and in tobacco research is required.
• Qualifications: A Master’s degree in tobacco breeding and genetics is preferred. Candidates with a relevant Bachelor’s degree plus three or more years of experience or equivalent independent experience are also considered.
