Posting Summary

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department within New Jersey Medical School.

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the TRA will engage in parasitology research related activities. The TRA will be responsible for molecular biology, tissue culture, animal work, microscopy and maintaining a detailed laboratory notebook. Duties will also include general laboratory maintenance.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Protein expression and purification.
  • Rodent (mouse and rat) surgeries, injections and colony maintenance.
  • General molecular biology, tissue culture and cell biological techniques.
  • Light, fluorescent and confocal microscopy.
  • Data collection and management, maintaining a detailed laboratory notebook.
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’ Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
