Job summary

Frontgrade Technologies is seeking a Temporary Quality Engineer IV in Colorado Springs to support risk analysis, control plans, inspection, and supplier quality, ensuring metrology methodologies align with customer and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include leading containment actions for nonconforming products, performing root-cause analysis, auditing documentation, and mentoring junior team members. A PhD/Masters may reduce required experience for seniority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in physics, mechanical engineering, mathematics or related field.
• Eight years of experience in a specialized functional discipline, or six years with a Masters, or three years with a PhD.

Responsibilities

• Learn manufacturing processes to create improvements in quality, efficiency, and cost.
• Lead nonconforming product resolution, containment actions, root cause corrective actions and COPQ metrics.
• Participate in customer reviews, quality discussions, and internal meetings.
• Compile, audit and approve audit documentation (EIDP, FAI, source inspection materials).
• Participate in cross-functional process improvement activities.
• Perform internal audits for process and procedure compliance.
• Mentor entry-level Quality Engineering team members.
• Define rework procedures for nonconforming material.

The Temporary Quality Engineer IV will support risk analysis, control plans, inspection, and supplier quality, and metrology methodology activities. They also support customer requirements and all project deliverables meet customer, internal and regulatory requirements including all applicable standards.

They also support customer requirements and all project deliverables meet customer, internal and regulatory requirements including all applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Learn manufacturing processes as assigned to create improvements in quality, efficiency, and cost
• Lead nonconforming product resolution to include creating containment action plans and root cause corrective action activities including COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) metrics; lead corrective actions, including changes to procedures to ensure completeness and currency
• Participate in customer reviews of quality concerns, discussions, and presentations; and internal meetings related to quality issues
• Compile, audit and approve audit product compliance documentation, including EIDP (End Item Data Package), FAI (First Article Inspection), source inspection materials, etc.
• Participate in collaborative, cross-functional process improvement activities
• Perform internal audits for process and procedure compliance
• Mentor entry level Quality Engineering team members
• Define rework procedures for nonconforming material

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or Related Field of Study
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline. OR (6) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree. OR (3) years of experience may be considered w/ a PhD.
