Job summary

Frontgrade is seeking a Quality Control Inspector I in York, PA to ensure products meet established quality standards. You will inspect, test, and measure products, document findings, and work with production teams to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED; no prior experience is required. You will perform mechanical inspections, review documentation, and support continuous improvement and audits across manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand GD&T (blueprint reading).
  • Perform mechanical/dimensional inspection of diverse product lines.
  • Review/audit CoC, CoA, FAIR documents.
  • Write Defective Material Reports (DMRs) and coordinate RTV Tracker.
  • Use calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, verniers and other measuring tools.
  • Coordinate with MRB, Planning, Purchasing, or QE to resolve issues.
  • Review Certificates of Conformance and related test documents for accuracy.
  • Inspect parts during in-process production and communicate errors and trends to supervisor.
  • Participate in cross-training as trainer or trainee.
  • Support audits (safety, internal, customer, third‑party) and continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist with special projects as directed by management.

Job description

The Quality Control Inspector I is responsible for ensuring that products, materials, or processes meet established quality standards before they reach customers. They inspect, test, and measure products, identify defects, document findings, and work with production teams to resolve quality issues. They verify compliance with company procedures, industry regulations, and safety standards, helping maintain consistent product quality and improve manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Understanding of basic GD&T (blueprint reading)
  • Mechanical/dimensional inspection of a diverse product lines
  • Review/audit of required documentation: CoC, CoA, FAIR
  • Write DMRs (Defective Material Reports) as needed and coordinates RTV Tracker (Return to Vendor)
  • Use measuring and monitoring equipment (calipers, height gages, pin gages, vernier’s, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Material Review Board, Planning, Purchasing or Quality Engineering as needed to resolve open issues
  • Review of COCs (Certificates of Conformance), Purchase Orders and Test documents to ensure completion accuracy
  • Inspect parts during in-process production and proactively communicate errors and systemic trends to the supervisor
  • Participate in cross-training activities as both a trainer and trainee, as needed
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects
    Participate in audits, including safety, internal, customer, and third-party audits
  • Support special projects and other assignments as directed by management
