Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District in Houston, TX, seeks a TEMPORARY Professional GT Support Services position to assist the Advanced Academic Studies department with GT testing and campus gifted programs, aiming to foster maximum growth for each student.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Insightful, flexible, and creative
• Proficient in the effective use of technology.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist campus personnel with implementing on-campus PGP program, making necessary accommodations for differences in student learning style.
• Assist Advanced Academics Department and campuses personnel with GT testing
• Work cooperatively with staff members to determine assessment goals, objectives and methods according to district requirements.
• Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school district.
• Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
• Establish and maintain open communication. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members.
• Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerizes reports, records and other documents required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Purpose: Responsible for assisting the Advanced Academic Studies department, as needed, including GT testing and/or implementation of campus gifted programs in a manner that foster the maximum growth of each student.

• Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerizes reports, records and other documents required.
