Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking a part-time Tutor - Certified - Elementary to deliver small group and individualized instruction in math, reading, and science. The role reports to the Principal and requires a Texas teaching certificate or equivalent, with a minimum of a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities include instructional planning,record-keeping, and collaboration with teachers to monitor student progress. Flexible, 188 days/year, 8 hours/week, $30/hour.

Job Title: Tutor - Certified - (Part-Time) (PTA Funded) - Elementary

Reports To: Principal

Classification: Professional - NC

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Days: 188 days (Flexible, 8 hours per week)

Daily/Hourly Rate: $30.00 per hour

Contract: None

Primary Purpose: Responsible for delivering small group and individualized services to identified students in the area of math, reading and science.

Qualifications / Skills

Education / Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position required.
  • Must meet requirements for remaining qualified under federal or state law.

Special Knowledge / Skills

  • Knowledge of procedures, student appraisal and career development.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Willingness to learn, acquire and apply new skills.

Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years experience working with children in an educational setting.

  • Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers. Maintain professional relationships.

  • Keep informed of and comply with state, district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
  • Compile, maintain and file all mandatory reports, records and other documents.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
