Job summary

The University of Washington, Washington National Biomedical Research Center, Arizona Breeding Colony, seeks an Animal Technician I for temporary support in caring for non-human primates at its Phoenix facility. Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform required work.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Must be able to work in personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Perform animal care duties; provide custodial care for animals and animal facilities.
• Feed and water animals according to prescribed diets and instructions.
• Transfer animals between enclosures while maintaining identity and records.
• Clean and sterilize cages, pans, runs and surrounding areas.
• Maintain records related to feeding, care and animal identification.
