Educational Foundations is accepting applications for a Temporary, Part‑time Instructor responsible for teaching courses with students enrolled in pre‑service teacher education programs, and/or students enrolled in MEd and post‑masters’ programs in the Department of Educational Foundations.
The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as‑needed basis based on enrollment. Anyone meeting the qualifications may be contacted for an interview and potentially hired when a need exists. In the event that you are interviewed but not immediately hired, your application will remain in the department’s pool of qualified faculty.

Teach undergraduate pre‑service education students in educational foundations, educational psychology, or educational technology. Additionally, candidates may be asked to teach courses in educational leadership, educational foundations, educational psychology, or educational technology at the graduate and post‑masters’ level. Additional responsibilities include ongoing professional/scholarly activity and service to the department and university commensurate with the assignment.
Ongoing evaluation, including annual peer review; classroom observations by one department faculty member per semester, and one classroom observation per year by the department chair; and student evaluations. Results are kept on file to serve as part of the record for renewal or reappointment.
The Educational Foundations (EDFN) Department is comprised of 10 full‑time faculty members and 1 support staff. EDFN is the education home to secondary BSE majors. It provides education courses, field experience, and co‑advisors for undergraduate secondary education students, and partners with liberal arts departments on content‑specific preparation in Social Studies, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, and Technology Education. EDFN also houses two MEd programs in Leadership for Teaching and Learning (LDTL) and Assessment, Curriculum, and Teaching (ACTE). In 2015, EDFN created the first doctoral program at Millersville, in partnership with Shippensburg University, and the EdD program in Educational Leadership continues to matriculate a new cohort of students each year.
