Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of phlebotomy experience within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens from patients of all ages following procedures.
• Identify patients and verify laboratory orders prior to collection.
• Greet patients and assess preparedness for testing, including fasting requirements.
• Provide instructions to patients not prepared for testing and assist with scheduling returns.
• Review specimens and orders for completeness and accuracy.
• Label, process, and prepare specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Enter laboratory orders into LIS or LIS when needed.
• Query and verify patient demographics and insurance data in EMR.
• Answer inquiries and route issues to supervision as needed.
• Prioritize work to support patient care and workflow.
• Coordinate with supervisors on temporary phlebotomy coverage.
• Monitor supplies and assist with stocking and ordering.
