Job summary

Mounds View Public School District is hiring a Nutrition Service Employee - Temporary to support school meal programs in Minnesota. This on-site role runs Monday through Friday with 4.0 hours per day, starting September 8, 2026.

The position involves assembling meals, food preparation, serving students, and maintaining sanitation standards under Kitchen Manager guidance. Ability to obtain SNA Level I certification within 1 year of hire is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble food supplies, measure ingredients and assist with meal preparation according to specifications from Kitchen Manager.
• Assist with preparation of food for shipping to other locations.
• Clean all food service equipment and preparation/serving areas; wash dishes, pots, pans and utensils.
• Set up serving line and gather carts, trays, napkins and utensils; place items for customers.
• Assist with preparation of sandwiches, desserts, salads and other items.
• Serve food to customers.
• Attend workshops, in-services, conferences or meetings for ongoing growth and training.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain SNA Level I certification within 1yearof hire

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices related to handling and serving food
• Ability to use standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements
• Knowledge of basic food preparation including washing, cutting and assembling food items and ingredients

Physical Requirements

• Continuously stand, reach with one or both hands, lift up to 15 pounds; frequently twist, lift up to 40 pounds, push and pull up to 15 pounds; occasionally crouch, kneel, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Responsibilities
