Job summary

Eurofins Built Environment Testing is proactively seeking a Laboratory Technician to temporarily join our Naperville site. This position supports the laboratory processing samples from August through December and is scheduled Monday–Friday 10 AM–7 PM, with overtime as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold AS or BS in Microbiology or Biology, have hands-on experience with microbiology techniques, and be able to document results accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• AS/BS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field.
• Proven work experience as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician or in transferable lab setting.
• Hands-on experience with relevant equipment, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of modern microbiological techniques.
• Experience in preparing cultures of bacteria and other microorganisms.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• English proficiency required: reading, writing, speaking.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological laboratory procedures and analyses.
• Maintain, calibrate, clean and test sterility of lab equipment.
• Isolate and culture bacteria or other microorganisms.
• Document all data and results in specified forms.
• Conduct microbial analyses of samples from various sources.
• Adhere to procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines.
• Prepare specimens and samples for testing.
• Work in compliance with laboratory safety standards.
• Prepare detailed reports of laboratory results and findings.
