Job summary

Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawaii seeks a temporary Lower School Operations Assistant to provide day-to-day logistical and administrative support for Lower School life, events, and travel. This one-year role sits within the Lower School and reports to the Associate Dean of Lower School.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, travel logistics, and cross-department collaboration, while supporting campus operations and supervision for about 750 students.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Event Coordination: plan and coordinate Lower School events and traditions, including AV/sound needs and security details.
• Campus Requests and Facilities Logistics: draft and track CURs; coordinate with departments to finalize setups.
• Travel, Lower School Athletics, and Student Life: book buses and venues; distribute itineraries to teachers.
• Overnight Trip Logistics: assist with Grade 4–6 overnight trips as a chaperone.
• Student Life and Athletics Liaison: serve as contact for club advisors and athletic coaches.
• Multi-Department and Cross-Campus Operations: vendor management with external providers; coordinate with SPO and Lower School Office.
• Team Collaboration: partner with operations team; align logistics with communications and schedules.
• Team Support and Daily Operations: supervise morning arrivals, recesses, lunches, Autolines; assist with lunch distribution and safety.
