Job summary

Father Nature Landscapes in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a temporary, hourly landscape laborer to join the Installation Crew during peak season. You will work Monday through Friday, 6:30am start, performing hands-on tasks across softscape, hardscape, and material distribution under the supervision of the Installation Crew Leader.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Distribute landscape materials: haul, spread, and level soil, mulch, and aggregates.
• Perform softscape installation: plant flowers, trees, shrubs, and lay sod as per design plans.
• Construct hardscape elements: assist in building retaining walls, pathways, patios, steps, and more.
• Operate power equipment and hand tools safely following OSHA standards and company safety rules.

Classification: Temporary, Hourly (Non-Exempt), Contract-Based

Reports To: Installation Crew Leader

Job Responsibilities

• Distribute landscape materials: haul, spread, and level soil, mulch, and various aggregates evenly across designated zones
• Perform softscape installation: plant flowers, trees, shrubs, and lay sod according to design plans
• Construct hardscape elements: assist in building retaining walls, pathways, patios, steps, and more
• Operate power equipment and hand tools: confidently and safely operate a variety of equipment and tools with strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety standards

Requirements

• Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform intense physical work, lift and carry up to 80 pounds, and work outdoors all day in various weather conditions
• Ability to access and navigate our bulk yard, loading areas, office space, and other areas of our facilities
• Punctuality, collaborative attitude, and strong communication skills to achieve daily project goals efficiently alongside other crew members
• Access to reliable transportation to ensure on-time arrival at the shop Monday through Friday
• Ability to pass our standard pre-employment screenings
• Ability to access and navigate our bulk yard, loading areas, office space, and other aspects of our facilities
• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application

Schedule and Compensation

Shift Details: Monday through Friday, 6:30am until the completion of the daily tasks

Contract Duration: November through December, 2026, with potential for extension into full-time employment

Hourly Rate: Compensation is based on skills and industry expertise, with further details reserved for discussion with candidates during the interview process.
