Qualifications

• Must be a steady, reliable worker.
• Able to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams.
• Capable of performing tasks independently after instructions.
• General knowledge of equipment in mechanical, electrical, and construction repair techniques.
• General knowledge of Home Construction.
• Able to read a tape measure and accurately record measurements.
• Willing to work outside and into crawl spaces; drivers license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduled in-home Healthy Home and Energy Assessments.
• Perform basic assessing tasks such as measuring rooms, checking insulation, air sealing, ventilation and moisture; record data accurately.
• Complete Assessment checklist accurately.
• Use tools and supplies for Assessments.
• Take accurate measurements and draw diagrams.
• Be aware of safety hazards and follow safety precautions with tools and work areas.
• Manual dexterity to operate tools.
• Physical agility to work from ladders or on roofs when needed.
• Ability to work in cold conditions.

SALARY/PAY RATE: $15.00 - $18.00

DESCRIPTION:

TheLac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians ("LVD")is seeking a part-time temporary Laborerto assist with Healthy Homes and Energy Assessment duties including datacollection, performing basic measurements, and assessing residential homes in theTribe’s Michigan Service Area.

Thisis a grant funded position and will be temporary until the grant period ends in2029 or possibly sooner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assistwith scheduled in-home Healthy Home and Energy Assessments ("Assessments")
• Performbasic assessing tasks such as measuring rooms and building components, checkinginsulation, air sealing, ventilation, and moisture issues, recording data andobservations accurately
• Accuratelycomplete Assessment checklist
• Usestools and supplies for Assessments.
• Takeaccurate measurements and draw diagrams.
• Awarenessof safety hazards and applicable safety precautions required with tools beingused and area work is performed in.
• Sufficientmanual dexterity to operate tools.
• Sufficientphysical agility to work from ladders or on roof if necessary.
• Abilityto work in cold conditions.
