Job summary

Lac Vieux Desert Health Center is seeking a Clinic Custodian to perform after-hours cleaning of the health center and Legacy Wellness Facility in Watersmeet, MI. The role emphasizes dusting, mopping, disinfecting surfaces and restocking restrooms to maintain a safe environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance, and be willing to complete vaccinations and TB testing. Training and flexible hours are provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect floors, furniture, countertops and fixtures after hours.
• Dust, vacuum, spot-clean and sanitize all areas of the health center.
• Clean restrooms, replenish supplies and maintain hygienic conditions.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and follow infection control standards.
• Assist with clinic activities as required and cooperate with staff.

The Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians("LVD") is seeking a Clinic Custodian to clean the Health Center & Legacy WellnessFacility after normal business hours (PM).

Primary Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dustmop and/or wet mop (with disinfectant) all floors.
• Vacuumall carpeted areas.
• Spotclean carpeting
• Vacuumupholstered furniture
• Spotclean furniture
• Dustdesks and office furniture
• Dustcounters, file cabinets, bookshelves.
• Dustall ledges, behind monitors, furniture, file holders and tops of cabinets.
• Dusthigh and low partition ledges & moldings.
• Dustall window blinds.
• Spotclean walls as needed.
• Spotclean office equipment, ledges, and surfaces.
• Cleanand disinfect telephones including mouth and earpiece.
• Removefingerprints from door and partition glass.
• Cleandoor kickplates.
• Cleanand disinfect restroom fixtures.
• Cleanand refill all restroom dispensers from stock.
• Cleanrestroom mirrors.
• Cleanand sanitize toilets, seats & urinals.
• Spotwash restroom partitions.
• Wetmop restroom floors with disinfectant.
• Cleanall drinking fountains.
• Cleanand disinfect sinks, counters, tables, and misc. surfaces.
• Cleanand damp disinfect wipe exam tables (When paper is removed).
• Spotdisinfect, wipe room fixtures and furniture such as surgical lights, ledges,exterior of cabinet units, picture frames, sills, cords etc.
• Cleanentrance ways, lobby, entrance mats.
• Gatherall waste, paper, recyclables, and replace can liners. Spot clean exterior ofcontainers.
• Properlyarrange furniture and magazines upon completion of work.
• Keepjanitor closet clean & orderly.
• Mustbe willing to assist with clinic activities as required.
• Mustwork together with a positive attitude and interactions with co-workers.
• Assistsupervisor with developing back up procedure to cover positions responsibilitywhen not available.
• AllIndian Health employees must abide by all regulations as stated in the PrivacyAct Procedures.

Skills & Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 1.Musthave a high School diploma or GED equivalent certificate. Applicants born priorto January 1, 1955, may be eligible for a waiver of these minimum educationrequirements in accordance with the policies of the Tribe.
• 2.Nophysical limitations, as job does require heavy lifting and moving of office furnitureand use of ladders along with powered cleaning equipment.
• 3.Mustbe willing to receive vaccinations and yearly TB test.
• 4.Mustbe willing to attend training pertaining to job duties, when available andrequested.
• 5.Mustbe willing to adjust to a flexible work schedule.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• ·1-2years, experience working independently on professional level cleaning in a health-relatedfacility
• ·Knowledge of Privacy Act of 1974 (Theprivacy of patients must fully be protected)

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• ·Abilityto work alone and be self-directed to complete cleaning and work orders
• ·Goodcommunication skills and ability to use E-mail
• ·Abilityto meet Infection Control standards for a health center
• ·Fastpaced with occasional high pressure or emergent situations
• ·PPEsuch as gloves or a mask may be required for task
• ·Frequentstanding, walking, reaching, grasping, carrying
• ·Occasionalbending, stooping, lifting less than 20 pounds
• ·Lifting,carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed
• ·Useof computer for utilizing Work Order system
