Job summary

Brivo, headquartered in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Temporary IT Technician for a 6-month contract. You will support employees with hardware, software, and a range of internet applications, networks, and operating systems.

This role reports to the IT department and focuses on ticket triage, troubleshooting, and maintaining network and security services, with exposure to hosted/SaaS ERP, VOIP, VPN, and Wordpress administration.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience with fiber-based networking or managed services.
• Experience with network protocols, VPN, Wi‑Fi and VoIP platforms.
• Strong hardware and software knowledge; excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, diagnose and troubleshoot incoming employee tickets.
• Provide support for desktop, laptop, network services and remote access.
• Resolve tickets promptly or escalate to appropriate IT personnel.
• Maintain relationships with users and track IT hardware/software inventory.
• Ensure uptime and security of networks and systems including firewall and VPN.
• Support hosted/SaaS ERP, VOIP, Email, file sharing and Wordpress admin.
• Communicate IT needs to management for purchases and improvements.
• Implement and maintain internal systems and access controls.
• Manage Wordpress administration.

Job description

Brivo is seeking a Temporary IT Technician (6 month contract) for our Headquarters located in Austin, Texas. As a successful employee support person, you will work on hardware/software and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems.

Location: Austin

Compensation: $24.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate, diagnose and troubleshoot incoming employee tickets
• Provides support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop or network services from local personnel or from employees using remote access
• Provides timely resolution of tickets or escalation on behalf of employee appropriate technical personnel
• Supports and maintains effective relationships with users
• Track inventory of all IT-related hardware and software
• Ensure performance security, and uptime of corporate network and systems, including firewall, spam filtering, e-mail, collaboration, VOIP, VPN
• Support of hosted/SaaS ERP, Voip, Email, File sharing, etc
• Communicate to management when IT requirements dictate new purchases
• Implement and maintain internal systems/applications
• Manage physical and logical access to facility systems and applications
• Manage wordpress

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Two or more years of experience working with either fiber-based networking or managed services, such as Fiber Internet Access, High-Speed Data, Ethernet, Managed Network Services, Managed Security Services, Managed Wi‑Fi Services, Enterprise Trunking, Hosted Voice and Enterprise TV Services
• Experience with network protocols, RF, routers, layer-2 switches, VPN, CWDM, HFC plant and delivery system, routing protocols and policies, Wi‑Fi and VoIP platforms
• Working knowledge of wireless technology
• In depth knowledge of hardware and software
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering exemplary customer service
• Ability to take direction, working well with both in a team and alone
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm in a professional manner
