NC State University is seeking a Temporary IT Intern to support the MathGPT integration within the mathematics curriculum. The role includes preparing the MAA 102 content in MathGPT, importing assignments, and testing usability for student use.

Responsibilities include ongoing support during Fall 2026, handling urgent inquiries, and training the Mathematics Lecturer on content management within MathGPT.

Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science (or related field) with at least 1 year of work experience.
• Fluency in My Open Math.
• Familiarity with MathGPT software.

Responsibilities

• Bridge AGI Math Lecturer and MathGPT team to support implementation in the curriculum.
• Before Fall 2026, integrate MAA 102 content into MathGPT and import course homework.
• Test system from student perspective for functionality, usability and feedback quality.
• Provide training to the Math Lecturer on managing/updating course content in MathGPT.
• During Fall 2026, deliver ongoing technical and operational support as needed.
• Respond to urgent faculty inquiries and troubleshoot issues affecting students.

Essential Job Duties

The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between the AGI Math Lecturer and the MathGPT development team to support the successful implementation and ongoing use of the MathGPT platform within the mathematics curriculum. Prior to the start of the Fall 2026 semester, the individual will be responsible for integrating the MAA 102 curriculum into MathGPT, importing course homework assignments into the platform, testing the system from the student perspective to evaluate functionality, usability, and the quality of instructional feedback, and providing training to the Math Lecturer on managing and updating course content within the platform. During the Fall 2026 semester, the successful candidate will provide ongoing technical and operational support on an as‑needed basis. Responsibilities include responding to urgent faculty inquiries, troubleshooting significant issues affecting students, coordinating with the MathGPT development team to resolve technical concerns, and helping ensure the continued effectiveness and reliability of the platform in support of student learning and the mathematics program.
