Job description

A Guest Services Agent is responsible for greeting and registering guests and checking guests out of the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

What will I be doing?

As a Guest Services Agent, you will be responsible for:

1. Greeting guests, completing the registration process, inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirming guest details and room rates, selecting rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing welcome packets, and ensuring guests know their room location or have a bell person assist them.
2. Assisting guests with check-out, ensuring rooms and services are correctly accounted for, handling payments, processing credit and debit cards, accepting various forms of payment, converting foreign currency, making change, and processing gift certificates and cards.
3. Demonstrating thorough knowledge of hotel information, including room categories, rates, packages, promotions, the local area, and general hotel services, and answering guest questions.
4. Using up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and maximize room occupancy.
5. Responding to guest inquiries and requests promptly and courteously.
6. Handling guest complaints, conducting research, and resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
7. Receiving, inputting, retrieving, and relaying messages to guests.
