Job summary

Loyola University Maryland is seeking a Lab Manager in the Forensic Science department. This temporary fixed-term role supports laboratory instruction by procuring, preparing, and maintaining materials and equipment for all lab courses.

Responsibilities include coordinating reagents, arranging equipment with faculty, maintaining prep-lab cleanliness, supervising work-study students, and developing a chemical inventory while coordinating waste disposal with EHS.

Qualifications

• BS in Forensic Science, Biology, Chemistry or related discipline.
• Experience preparing solutions, using microscopes and balances.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Procurement, preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment to support laboratory instruction.
• Work with faculty to arrange for preparation of reagents and gathering and arranging of equipment for all lab courses.
• Maintain the cleanliness of prep-lab, instructional labs, and storage areas in collaboration with faculty members and work-study students.
• Coordinate efforts of work-study students to assist with preparation of labs and clean-up of teaching and preparatory lab spaces.
• Develop and maintain a chemical inventory.
• Coordinate the storage and disposal of biological and chemical waste with EHS.
• Duties vary throughout these roles.
• Non essential: Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
