Job summary

Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore seeks a temporary Lab Manager to support the Forensic Science program. The role involves procuring and maintaining materials, preparing reagents, and coordinating work-study students for lab setup and cleanup.

You will maintain chemical inventory, liaise with faculty and EHS for waste disposal, and help ensure lab spaces meet safety and instructional needs while a security background check is completed.

Qualifications

• BS in Forensic Science, Biology, Chemistry or related discipline.
• Experience preparing solutions in a general laboratory setting.
• Ability to operate microscopes and analytical balances.

Responsibilities

• Procurement, preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment to support laboratory instruction.
• Work with faculty to arrange for preparation of reagents and gathering and arranging of equipment for all lab courses.
• Maintain the cleanliness of prep-lab, instructional labs, and storage areas in collaboration with faculty members and work-study students.
• Coordinate efforts of work-study students to assist with preparation of labs and clean-up of teaching and preparatory lab spaces.
• Develop and maintain a chemical inventory.
• Coordinate the storage and disposal of biological and chemical waste with EHS.
