Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is seeking a floor monitor to help maintain a peaceful, safe environment and support residents, including those transitioning from recovery. You will coordinate with staff, handle calls, supervise meals, document activities, and assist with policy awareness.

You will conduct welfare checks, support residents in crisis, and ensure confidentiality and safety while complying with program policies and building safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and crisis intervention skills needed.
• Personal experience in recovery from chemical dependency is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate/communicate with other shift monitors for daily needs of program
• Handle telephone calls according to program policy
• Supervise cafeteria during meal times
• Maintain documentation of floor activities while on duty
• Record observations or interactions with residents in daily log and report to case manager/supervisors
• Provide support and suggestions to residents on an ongoing basis
• Handle emergencies according to program policy, ensuring safety of residents and staff
• Obtain and record necessary information for statistical reporting
