Job summary

The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority is seeking a Temporary Construction Worker D to perform semi-skilled installation, repair, and maintenance tasks on its distribution systems. The role is based at Rockland Key, Florida, and requires collaboration with the Construction Crew Foreman and other teams.

Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED and a valid Florida driver license; CDL Class A with endorsements must be obtained within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver License; must obtain Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) including endorsements within one year of hire.
• Must be able to communicate and comprehend the English language.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the installation, repair, and/or replacement of the Authority’s distribution systems.
• Participates in placement of traffic safety signs at work sites under supervision.
• Performs asphalt road and concrete sidewalk repairs; assists in installing taps for mainline and service lines.
• Assists in performing minor chemical tests involving chlorine residuals.
• Maintains trash, pumps, small compactors, portable generators, traffic maintenance equipment and other light construction equipment.
• Receives forms, reports, correspondence, manuals and other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, or retains as appropriate.
• Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, the public to coordinate work activities and resolve problems.
• Fuels and cleans trucks and equipment; ensures trucks are stocked with tools and parts.
• Loads, transports and unloads tools, equipment and parts to/from jobsite; participates in yard maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as required.
