University of Northern Iowa is seeking a custodial worker to support building maintenance under supervision. The role involves cleaning tasks such as trash removal, light maintenance, snow/ice management, and basic repairs, with a 3:00 pm–11:30 pm schedule.

This temporary position is limited to 1040 hours per fiscal year, offering a structured, part-time-like arrangement on a Monday–Friday basis. Background checks apply and full-time benefits are described for eligible non-temporary staff.

Job Description:

Under direct supervision, performs custodial duties necessary for the general maintenance of buildings which involve tasks that require carrying, lifting, bending; empties trash and recycling; changes light bulbs in assigned areas using stepladder; shovels snow and spreads ice melt to maintain building entrances; reports needed repairs by completing repair slips; fills out order forms for requesting cleaning materials, supplies, etc.; locks and unlocks doors; operates machines to facilitate cleaning activities; and performs other related duties as assigned. This is a temporary position with a work schedule of Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Temporary positions are limited to 1040 hours per fiscal year.
