Job description

Position Description

ENSCO is seeking a custodian to perform assigned custodial tasks at an industrial site, which include general cleaning of restrooms, offices, cafeteria, entrances, classrooms, conference rooms, parking lots, and other common areas, as well as outlying buildings. Responsibilities also include cleaning high bays, rails, and concrete floors.

Custodial tasks often include:

1. Emptying wastebaskets and replacing liners as needed
2. Dusting/cleaning tops of office furniture, desks, and tables
3. Vacuuming all carpeting and spot cleaning soiled areas as needed
4. Sweeping floors and damp mopping non-carpeted flooring with disinfectant
5. Sanitizing and cleaning toilets, basins, and urinals
6. Cleaning sinks, counters, mirrors, fixtures, and damp mopping tile floors
7. Refilling all restroom dispensers as needed
8. Spot cleaning walls, partitions, and doors
9. Wiping/cleaning all tabletops, chairs, vending machines, appliances, etc.
10. Sweeping and mopping high bays
11. Sweeping rails
12. Picking up litter in parking lots
13. Ensuring custodial supplies are stocked and maintaining tidy custodial closets
14. Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

• Basic knowledge of custodial duties and janitorial responsibilities
• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of related experience
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, and applying finishes on different flooring materials
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and processes
• Knowledge of cleaning, sanitizing, stripping, and waxing compounds
• Experience in cleaning and sanitizing washrooms
• Ability to follow directions and work within guidelines
• Ability to read, understand, and follow units of measure on product labels
• Professional demeanor and teamwork skills
• Ability to maintain janitorial equipment in a safe, clean, and operable condition
• Physical ability to perform repetitive motions, including bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, and squatting
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including climbing stairs and ladders
• Capability to maintain organized janitor closets according to regulations
• Physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects up to 50 pounds
