Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a Community Field Coordinator to implement school-wide support and community outreach, developing partnerships with community agencies, corporate organizations, and families. The role is an anticipated temporary vacancy covering a paraprofessional on leave.

The CFC will work under the Principal/Head of School, coordinating outreach, events, and parent involvement, with a focus on language and cultural sensitivity to serve diverse families.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or passing score on ParaPro or WorkKeys.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in establishing community partnerships and networks.
• Experience working with young people and with migrant/immigrant families.
• Ability to work as part of a team and obtain proper work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and develop a marketing plan for the school newsletter and brochures.
• Establish partnerships with community and corporate agencies.
• Coordinate community outreach using culturally and linguistically appropriate strategies.
• Coordinate events and celebrations that affirm student and family heritage.
• Develop strategies to involve parents and families in the school.
• Assist in coordinating parent/community advocacy and support.
• Make phone contact with students' parents/guardians.
• Identify resources and speakers to facilitate dialogues and presentations.
• Develop corporate partnerships to provide additional resources for the school.
