Job summary

South San Antonio Independent School District is seeking a Temporary Teacher Assistant to support instructional activities across multiple locations in San Antonio, Texas. You will assist teachers with materials, classroom management and administrative tasks under supervision of a certified educator.

This role requires at least an associate degree or 48 college hours preferred, good communication with students, and the ability to work with children.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum 48 semester hours from an accredited college or university preferred.
• High school diploma or GED and TABE test required.
• Satisfactory fingerprint background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective tests and assignments.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist teachers with keeping administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground as needed.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings.
