Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; meet formal academic assessment (TOPP Region 20, 70%) or equivalent; 48 college hours or an associate’s degree.
• Must meet criteria to qualify for a valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics; work well with children; communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher; work with individuals or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests or assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom; manage inventory and equipment.
• Keep administrative records and prepare required reports; support substitute teachers.
