Job summary

Excelsia Injury Care in Maryland is seeking an in-person A/R-Collections Assistant to join our billing team. The role involves updating collections records, entering invoices into the EMR, and supporting denials and rebilling for partially paid bills.

You will also handle insurance-related follow-ups and UR requests in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and demonstrates confidentiality, strong communication, and time management skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience with accounts receivable and medical billing is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and build rapport.
• In-person availability during the stated hours is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle A/R-collections tasks and update green sheets.
• Download WCAIS correspondence and enter into EMR.
• Assist with reconsiderations and rebilling for partially paid bills.
• Assist with billing exhausted MVA accounts to personal health insurance.
• Assist with billing accounts labeled Insurance Pending and follow up on medical cases.
• Provide back-up support for UR records requests and payment postings.
• Review denials for exhausted MVAs and forward items for review.

Job Duties

*PLEASE NOTE: This position is IN PERSON M-T 8:30-5PM and Friday 8-4:30pm

A/R-Collections Assistance

• Updating green sheets
• Downloading WCAIS correspondence (WC)
• Assisting with Reconsiderations for partially paid bills
• Assisting with Rebilling accounts
• Assisting with billing exhausted MVA accounts to personal health insurance
• Assist with billing out “Insurance Pending” accounts
• Assist with following-up on medical cases
• Back‑up support for UR records requests (WC)
• Back‑up payment posting support (ie personal health insurance EFTs, medical records payments, month end help as needed)
• Reviewing denials for exhausted MVA’s and any other pertinent correspondence to be brought to collectors’ attention for review/follow-up

This person will be responsible for downloading Uber invoices and entering them into the EMR as primary responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting max. of 20 lbs.
