Job summary

Excelsia Injury Care is seeking a Billing Specialist to support our growing team in Maryland. You will handle medical billing tasks, coordinate with attorneys and clients, and ensure accurate entry into the EMR system.

Ideal candidates will have experience in medical billing or accounts receivable, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This on-site role offers opportunities to grow within a nationwide healthcare provider.

Responsibilities

• Request medical bills for attorneys and clients by email or portal.
• Manage emails and portal requests related to bills.
• Scan received bills into the EMR system.
• Process payments for billed items as needed.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with office staff and clinical teams as required.

What You’ll Do

• Request medical bills for the attorneys by email, fax and other websites
• Manage emails and portal requests from attorneys
• Scan bills once received to the EMR
• Complete payments when needed for the bills we are requesting
• Follow-up on accounts in a timely manner
• Communicate with office staff as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Additional Skills/Competencies

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
• Detail Oriented
• Ability to multi-task.
• Confidence in working independently.
• Typing – 50+ WPM.
• Working knowledge of insurance guidelines and billing and collection procedures.
• Ability to effectively interact with doctors, attorneys, patients, and co-workers.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting maximum of 20 lbs.
