Job summary

Ontic in Creedmoor, NC seeks an experienced Temporary IT Helpdesk Support Technician to provide frontline Tier 1 and 2 support in a secure, regulated environment. This on-site role requires strong IT skills, adherence to security protocols, and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.

You will support Windows, Microsoft 365, and defense-specific software while following ITAR/NIST/CMMC guidelines. The assignment is temporary with potential extension based on workload, with duties performed

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple projects and problem-solve
• Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems and hardware troubleshooting
• Strong awareness of cybersecurity best practices
• Ability to follow strict policies and procedures
• On-call rotation may be required

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, ruggedized systems, and peripheral devices in secure environments
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues in compliance with IT security policies
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based systems in accordance with cybersecurity and regulatory requirements
• Support Microsoft 365 and engineering applications
• Assist with user account provisioning and Active Directory management
• Maintain system documentation in accordance with ITAR, NIST, CMMC, or other frameworks
• Deploy and support systems in classified or controlled-access environments (as permitted by clearance level)
• Perform patch management and endpoint security monitoring
• Escalate incidents following incident response and security procedures
